Eyes are probably one of the most beautiful parts of the human body. An "entry way into ones soul" people say. I came across these images taken by photographer Suren Manvelyan this morning and was blown away. Other than the textbook explanation of how we see...I still have no understanding of why our peepers work they way that they do.

What I do know is that they are truly magnificent close up, like landscapes from another planet.

A MONSTER BOOTY passing me by has just become one of the most adorable things that I have ever seen.

Fortunately these fabulous cranky pantaloons don't come in my size, but I will be getting a pair for an adorable lil'lady I know.

Is it just me, or are monsters becoming far more adorable than scary these days?

When I was little I hugged a teddy bear and had nightmares about monsters.
Today, kids hug their monsters and have nightmares about...teddy bears?

Last weekend we had the pleasure of participating in the Art Star Craft Bazaar. It was amazing, yet I could not help but feel like I was being stared at all day.

I'm thinking it may have been because of these little (and BIG) guys (or gals?) created by Angela Davidson staring at us from the tent across the way.

Yesterday I spent most of my day gardening...in the rain.

It's hard to find time to beautify my casa, so some raindrops were not going to stop me. At first I wished it was sunshiny, but after a couple hours of digging, heaving around stones, planting, & being a muddy sweaty mess in the chilly spring rain..I have to say, it felt fabulous.

Check out these beautiful stones made by "earth" but beautified even further by Yoran Morvant, an architectural draftsman by day, fabulous illustrator by night.

You can see how his landscape drawings inspire his work.

I'd love to have some for my garden, or just to stare at in my house.

Paper Trees

Spring is here and one of my most favorite things to do is lay in the grass and look up at the trees. As we find ourselves running around through life, it's nice to sit in the same spot something else has for hundreds of years and appreciate it's beauty.

Paper holds so many stories, it's quite lovely to see it hold the story of where it came from.

Check out these amazing prints by Bryan Nash Gill.

His technique is incredible as he rubs every single ring with his fingertip to make the impression on the paper.

Beautiful, I want to fill my house with them.

 

 

a New York perspective

I've been dying to make a trip up to the city. Spring is one of my favorite times to go frolick around and be inspired.

Aero Director, Sam O'Hare, has created a fabulous little short film titled The Sandpit. He managed to capture The Big Apple in a refreshing new way that I've never seen before, in miniature...but not fake miniature...it's real...and pretty awesome.
