My husband and I scored a free dresser from his mom (it was her dresser growing up) a few months ago and we had high hopes to beautify the fifty-year old piece of furniture. So this weekend, the first free weekend in a while, we decided to get our hands dirty. A little online research led me to this photo for inspiration.
These are the before pictures. Notice the stickers... they were not the easiest to get off!
Stripping the paint took three hours. Much longer than we had expected!
Next on the to do list... sanding!
Sanding done! On to priming...
Then we stained the top.
Waiting for the paint to dry was torture! But in the meantime, shopping therapy helped cure the pain. Here I am putting on the finishing touches.
Finished product!
With a touch of sunshine...
I can't wait to put it in the dining room. How does it look?
that is awesome. I love old furniture. The quality and just style/design of it has so much character. People are so quick to buy that crap at Ikea.
