It was a sunny day last October when I rolled into work with over 900+ things on my mind, when I approached the front door to find this mysterious box waiting to be tripped over. When I got closer I realized the tag on the front was a silk screened "V" ... and then i started to put it together.
When I got in the door, I threw my computer, my coffee, and anything else I was holding to the ground and dove into this magnificent box with reckless abandon. Swooning over every detail in this masterpiece, I opened each handmade linen envelope, unwinding each button and string closure and inside of each envelope was a unique treasure, designed and silkscreened on a piece of wood, was a remarkable story told in the form of quotes, design and life related. Carefully attached to each envelope was the author of each quote.
Completely blown away by the detail, the thought process, the presentation, and the story it all told, I was immediately searching for a way to find this person a home in our company.
So I wanted to take this chance to welcome, Chris Beck, and in doing so, I felt the need to share her amazing creation. Her work is amazing, and her resume certainly stopped me in my tracks.
Over the next few weeks, be prepared to meet some amazing new faces in the dollhouse. Change and growth are all such a healthy and positive thing. It makes you look an the entire picture, where you've been, where you're going, and why you're doing it. This year marks year TEN for the creation of Two Paperdolls, and year seven of me doing it full-time. I look back on some wonderful and talented people who helped us grow a long the way, and the cast we have now is beyond my expectations. I've mentioned before some really exciting changes are ahead, a new site, and much more. Can't spill it yet folks...
You certainly found yourself an incredible talent. Or I guess I should say she found you. Can't wait to see what happens next!
