If someone were to walk into my house today, they would surely think I am some sort of wine connoisseur, or preparing for a wine and cheese party by the presence of bottles EVERYWHERE. To their dismay, all of the bottles are empty, with the exception of a few housing plants. Though the contents were surely tasty, and lots of good times were had, I purchase my vino because of the label and not necessarily what is inside. One brand that has made my taste buds & designer-eye a happy is a fun brand named Molly Dooker. Not only do they taste delicious, they look super fun!

I highly recommend the Shiraz. BEWARE, it may knock you out.

 

Moms With Style

Being a mom used to be associated with "mom" jeans and minivans, until now...

As a new mother-to-be I have been scoping out the best gear for our baby that is both functional AND amazingly designed :-) Up until recently the Orbit Baby System was as good as it could get in the stroller/car seat department... until they just outdid themselves. 

The Orbit G2 is due to arrive in the next couple of months. I went for a walk this morning in the bitter cold and the first thing I thought was, "Man, my upper lip is mighty chilly, I wish I had a mustache to keep my face warm."

Ok, maybe that is not completely true and, yes, I am a lady... but that does not seem to matter in the world anymore. Every one has become 'STACHE CRAZY! Bandaids, finger-stache gloves, glasses, jewelry, finger puppets, note cards, even babies seem to be developing their 'staches quite prematurely these days!

I wouldn't go canceling your waxing appointments just yet, but here are some fun alternatives if you are looking to keep your upper lip warm, or just craving a new look.

A New Spin on Nursery

For all you mommas or soon to be mommas who have a bit of an edge to your design aesthetic, I found the perfect quilts for you!

With quite a few of my close friends soon to be expecting, I have found myself wandering the infant bedding sections in utter boredom at their selections. While teddy bear and princess themes are perfectly acceptable, I found myself wanting to see something a little more gender neutral with a bit more of an urban edge. So when I came across these adorable organic Cuccio baby quilts I knew I had struck gold. 

Cuccio teamed up with Australian based textile company Umbrella Prints to provide us with these amazing baby quilts carried exclusively by Rose and Radish. a place for everything, and everything in its place

Happy New Year! It's hard to believe that it is 2010. Wasn't it just yesterday that everyone was stocking up on bottled water and non-perishables for Y2K? Ah, the memories...

I'm not usually a fan of traditional New Year's resolutions, but this year I've adopted a new motto that I want to keep present in my day-to-day, particularly in my home. It's an oldie but goody, and something that I really need to remember:

"A place for everything, and everything in its place."

I'm a pack-rat by nature, holding onto every ticket stub and birthday card that comes my way. Over the last few years, I've gotten a lot better at throwing out useless trinkets, but the sentimental side of me still likes to hold onto a few things, in addition to the many books, magazines, and miscellaneous home items filling up my space. I allow myself certain keepsakes now, as long as they have a place to live and don't start taking over a space. That's where useful storage solutions come into play. If I had all of the closet- and shelf-space in the world, I would love some beautiful containers to organize everything to my heart's content.
