So I was totally blown away when I read on notcot.com about a floor that was tiled entirely with pennies — what a dazzling and unexpected effect! You can find this floor at the Standard Grill, at the Standard Hotel NYC that opened earlier this year.
But THEN I came across something even crazier that I can't believe I didn't know about sooner — an Amsterdam installation by Sagmeister, Inc. entitled "Obsessions Make My Life Worse and My Work Better." Truer words were never spoken, and what designer doesn't want to be Stefan Sagmeister, at least a little bit?
Read all about the installation on their own blog — from the details about how they painted the bottoms of all the eurocents blue so that they'd always be identifiable as part of the installation, to how the whole thing was removed by the authorities the very next day: http://sagmeister.com/urbanplay/. It sure was pretty while it lasted...
Located right across the street from our studio, the team from Table Art was desperately in need of a new branding identity and web site. Kathy, the owner of the company, walked over to our studio and asked for some assistance, which of course we were more then happy to give.
Once we completed the new Table Art logo and business cards, we were eager to dive into their website design. They wanted to show how much they love the art of designing and creating a range of beautiful events, alongside their impressive portfolio, without limiting the site's appeal to just one particular type of client.
The site is very neutral and allows the images to tell the story rather then the design of site. Kathy also requested a blog, so instead of just having a link to an external one we built a custom blog right into the website, allowing the user to visit the blog without having to ever leave the site. Both Two Paperdolls and Table Art are very excited to present their redesigned site!
I cannot get over how clever this wedding photo booth is, made by the groom and a friend... the "frames" make it unique from other photo booths out there (and add so much fun and charm).
We just wanted to take a moment today to thank a few more of the lovely bloggers who have mentioned us lately — particularly those who have been helping us spread the word about the Louella Press Etsy shop!
DON'T FORGET! Today is the last day to enter the Louella Press giveaway on Operation NICE!
Head over to the giveaway post on Operation NICE
and leave a comment TONIGHT before 8pm, EST; don't forget to mention which design you like best, and
something that you're thankful for.
It could be your lucky day! While the Operation NICE giveaway is still going on, why not try your luck again at the chance to win the Louella Press letterpress print of your choosing? That's right, you could win one of ANY of our eighteen prints (and who knows... we may just be adding more soon!). The lovely Kelly of Design Crush is hosting this fab giveaway, and we're excited to hear what everyone's favorite prints are.
You have until next Monday to enter, so head on over and leave a comment... and don't forget to check out the rest of Design Crush — it is definitely one of my top five favorite daily reads.
Around here, we're all big fans of Operation NICE (and Melissa, the lovely lady behind the site), so we are thrilled to be partnering with Melissa on a giveaway. In the next week, Operation NICE will be giving away one each of our "Be Nice" and "Say Please" letterpress prints! That means there are two chances to win! Each of the two winners will be able to choose the color combination they will like best, since we have added some new colors to our collection.
Head over to the giveaway post on Operation NICE and leave a comment before next Thursday evening to be entered into the drawing; don't forget to mention which design you like best, and something that you're thankful for.
The lovely Larkyn (isn't that the coolest name?) over at Little Willow gave a friendly shout-out to Louella Press by showcasing some of our new letterpress prints.
Thanks, Larkyn!
Be sure to check out Little Willow for some more gorgeous eye-candy and amazing inspiration.
Our friend and former doll, Catherine, recently started a great new blog called Fresh. As Cat puts it, "Fresh is a place to
seek news and start conversations; in most cases on issues of
sustainability in our food systems, as well as our related communities
and culture." While this is the focus, you can also expect
plenty of lighthearted fodder interspersed throughout the content, and
perhaps links to some tasty and unique recipes.
