We just finished up printing and painting the edges of these great business cards for two of my favorite people in the wedding industry! Loving the crisp white 220# lettra stock and the fresh green edges!
I had the pleasure of meeting Rebecca Grinnals and Kathryn Arce of Engaging Concepts last summer when i attended their Engage:09 event in Grand Cayman, a luxury business summit for the wedding industry.
Since we've been lucky enough to do some great little letterpress projects for them, and I'm looking so forward to attending this years event, Engage:10, again in Grand Cayman in June.
These fab cards were designed by the talented Trisha Hay.
Wow, we've been so busy printing, these just came off the press today too, i love that we are now printing many jobs in one day, thanks to ultra rockstar pressman Scott McClelland. Our friends over at Little Nest are about to open their second location in Glen Eagle and we were thrilled to design and print some fab letterpress goodness for them. Using one of my favorite papers (Fabriano Elle Erre) in light gray! The black and orange looks so great. Love them!
It's been quite the season for ultra hip mitzvah's around our studio lately, and we have been having a blast combining our love for papers and texture with our printing obsession. Below are a few of our favorites using black, red and white, and even a little grey.
The first is a combination of engraving on tri-plexed stock, blind embossing, die-cutting and laser cutting (the belly band). Both jobs had an extra heavy custom lined envelope.
Here's a few peeks at some business cards we've printed last week. TRUST is the new venue that took over the old F.U.E.L House in Old City, letterpressed on Crane's Lettra Pearl 220#, they feel lovely.

Daniel Danger and I both grew up in rural New England. While I'm busy die cutting your save-the-dates, he's busy selling out of his intricate screen prints in a blink of an eye. Ever since I met Daniel while both attending RIT in Rochester, NY, I was a fan of everything I would see of his. This is still true, and I find myself with an even deeper appreciation of his labors as I'm in the print-world as well now. Thematically, Daniel's prints often capture the New England countryside, towns, woods, and mills in an atmospheric way that feels like a distant memory, and definitely plays a nostalgic role in my mind's eye.
I leave you with a few of my favorite prints of his as of late:
“september” 23×30″ fifteen color screenprint, edition of 100 2008
“i was born in a house of wyeth” 20×25″ five color silkscreen, edition of 125 16×20″ one color intaglio, edition of 10 2009
“lock and key or latchkey, a house you tricked empty” 20×30″ five color silkscreen 2009
And, as we do love our whales and prints here at Two Paperdolls, what's one more? “so how can we hope to float?” six color screenprint, edition of 180 edition of 20 on blue 2008
My last 2.5 years here at Two Paperdolls and Louella Press have been a wild journey on which I have learned so much and become a better designer in the process. Today is my last day as a "doll" and I wanted to take the opportunity to say goodbye to my colleagues at the dollhouse, and to you, the readers at Louella Court! I hope my posts have enlightened and entertained you :-) It has been a blast!
