Local Philadelphia artist Gail Cunningham is teaming up with our neighbors over at the Piazza, Bambi Gallery, for a show opening this Friday. Her cut-paper pieces are amazing — terribly intricate and fascinating. The show is titled "Social Diagrams" and in Gail's own words "continues to push [her] fascination with social organization and our structured environments." I love all the detention center pieces, but I think my favorite is "Army Ant Couch." So delightfully disturbing! Check out all her stuff at Bambi [1001 North 2nd Street in the Piazza] through September 28, or at www.gailcunningham.com.
