I’m just starting to get my feet wet here at Two Paperdolls but I've already fallen in love with one particular wedding invitation. I came upon a tangerine orange envelope with a whimsical font on the flap that struck my eye. As I opened the envelope, I discovered a beautiful Japanese design incorporated on the lining. I love eastern inspired designs, especially the way they combine bright, bold colors, so I was immediately drawn in.
What I find most intriguing about the design is the use of the Japanese paper crane that is included. According to Japanese legend, cranes are mystical creatures that make one’s heart’s desires come true, how romantic for a wedding? So if you ever want to wish a special couple a thousand years of happiness and prosperity, folding a thousand paper cranes should do the trick.
I can’t help but wonder what inspired this couple to incorporate this special symbol into their wedding theme. I’m also curious about the location of the reception, the Crane Arts Center…coincidence or carefully selected?
Cara:
Have you met Mindy yet? Nothing is coinciden tal with Mindy. When you meet her, ask her how many cranes attended the wedding reception.
